The Inventory Controller’s role is to manage all areas of inventory control on board and ensure all food, beverage and hotel inventory items stored on board are properly received and accounted for, from arrival until consumed on board. To liaise with other departments to ensure that the correct stock levels are ordered and held on board the vessel.
You will need to have cruise ship experience held in similar rank.
You are fully responsible for the day to day operation in the storerooms including but not limited to activities of all staff involved with receiving, storing, inventorying and issuance of food, beverage and hotel stocks, accuracy of inventories, appropriate FIFO rotation, cleanliness and compliance with Public Health Standards and SQM policies.
Communicate with the HM on a daily basis on the status of stocks including any concerns.
Liaise with the Executive Chef, R&B Manager, Housekeeper on a regular basis regarding potential shortages and work closely with all departments to ensure stocks are not over ordered.
You are overall in charge of the loading, and will liaise with all hotel divisions to ensure that enough staff are assigned to assist the loadings on turnaround days. The Inventory Controller will receive all loadings from pier side on turnaround day.
You are responsible for checking all quantities and specifications after the loadings, in order to be confirmed in MMS system. Report immediately any fault or shortage of items to the relevant hotel personnel and shore side Purchasing Department.
Responsible for checking all requisitions which are placed via the Fidelio Material Management System and ensure that the Inventory team are trained to use Fidelio Material Management System.
Responsible for monitoring the performance of all staff under his/her supervision ensuring that all staff receives sufficient coaching for current job performance.
Demonstrates proper operation of all equipment to his staff, including personnel which are not permanently assigned to the storerooms in order to ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications/Skills
Must be computer literal experience with MS office USPH qualification
Ability to speak and read English
Familiar with database driven Inventory Control Systems
Experience with Fidelio Material Management System
Fully conversant with USPH, EU ShipSan and relevant Public Health regulations
Basic to intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate
