Crew Ambasador

We are pleased to announce we are looking to hire a Crew Ambassador for the Hotel Admin department, working for Ambassador Cruise Line.

Ambassador is the first new British cruise line to be launched since 2010 and is here to accompany the next era of travel by blending tradition and innovation for a truly timeless cruise holiday that still makes guests feel right at home.

THE ROLE:

Support crew members by effectively responding and resolving onboard maintenance issues and enhancing onboard experience by arranging a comprehensive onboard crew activity Programme.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Acts as key liaison on crew welfare matters regarding cabin maintenance issues
• Supports Shipboard Resco AVO system to ensure upkeep of crew areas and that brand standards of crew living quarters are followed
• In conjunction with Shipboard command, support the regular Cabin Inspection process and follows up on any outstanding items
• Champions and supports HRM to lead Ambassador Crew Welfare program to achieve positive results related to Crew Satisfaction
• Prepares monthly Crew Activity Calendar for HD, Master and HRM approval
• Ensure all agreed crew activities happen as planned and venues set up as agreed and cleared at end of event
• Initialize Crew Shop process and manage inventory and purchase order flow
• In partnership with Human Resource Manager, facilitates New Crew Orientation by supporting training and conducting ship tour for newly embarked team-members
• Ensures crew cabin allocation follows agreed Berthing Plan and any deviations are reported to HR Manager
• Continuously develops new ideas to improve crew experience and facilities on board
• Lead by example by ensuring all company policies and procedures are always adhered to
• Wear Ambassador uniform with pride and in line with company image and uniform standards
• Provide a positive working environment by ensuring all colleagues are treated fairly and equally
• Any other duties as reasonably requested by Hotel Director or Human Resources Manager

KEY ATTRIBUTES:

• Previous shipboard experience or relevant experience in similar position
• Fluent in English – must have excellent oral and written communication skills
• Flexibility – must be able to work various times of the day, remain calm under pressure and have a can-do attitude
