Hotel Director (Cruise) – Worldwide

Position Summary:

The Hotel Director oversees all hotel operations onboard the vessel to ensure fleet, ship, and divisional performance objectives are met. Operations include Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, Guest Services, Financial Operations, Entertainment & Guest Activities, Inventory Management, HR, IT Operations, and Onboard Revenue.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage all hotel personnel through division heads.
• Recruit, motivate, and develop staff; maintain effective employee relations.
• Ensure high guest satisfaction and resolve complaints; track ratings and implement improvements.
• Maintain effective internal communications and encourage teamwork among all shipboard staff.
• Implement and monitor budgets, expenditures, and purchasing practices.
• Ensure guest and crew safety; oversee emergency procedures.
• Maintain visibility and engagement with guests, crew, and management.
• Monitor industry trends and participate in corporate meetings and training.
• Serve on the Shipboard Executive Committee.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of progressive management experience in shipboard or 4-5 star hotel operations, including F&B, front office, and/or housekeeping.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of strategic planning, resource allocation, HR practices, and customer service standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and hospitality systems (e.g., Fidelio, Micros, Medallia).
• Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, business administration, or related field preferred.

Language Requirements:

• Fluent in English (spoken and written).
• Additional languages (Spanish, French, German) preferred.
