Position Summary:

As Senior Accountant, Internal Financial Reporting, you will assist in the consolidation of Royal Caribbean's monthly operational results. You will be partly responsible for the development of and compliance with accounting policies and principals as well as departmental procedures. In this position you will interaction with Treasury, Tax and Corporate Planning.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review monthly and quarterly Management Reporting Book (the reports contained in this book provide the consolidated operational results of the organization by brand as well as Key Statistics and Vessel Results)
• Assist in the preparation of Balance Sheet results
• Ensure that schedules by Balance Sheet category are complete and all Balance Sheet accounts are codified properly in JDE
• Assist management in the analysis and identification of significant Year over Year or Quarter over Quarter flux drivers relating to Balance Sheet accounts
• Assist management in the preparation of quarterly memorandum to the accounting groups requesting explanations on variances
• Reconcile and/or review certain balance sheet accounts, including short investments, ST / LT receivable and prepaid accounts
• Assist management in the analysis and review of Actual vs. Forecast explanations submitted by the operating groups
• Assist management in generating financial schedules, Sarbanes Oxley documentation, and other items for external and internal auditors as needed.
• Collaborate with Corporate Planning to ensure that the monthly financial results are in sync between the General Ledger and Hyperion (Essbase)

Requirements:

• Four-year Accounting degree from an accredited university
• Two to four years experience in Accounting. CPA and/or public accounting experience preferred.
• Must have knowledge of, and be able to apply, U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Requires strong analytical skills
• Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
• Must be literate in Windows operating system, Excel, Word and Power Point. Must have knowledge of financial control systems
• JD Edwards experience preferred
