Position Summary:

The Graphic Design Specialist will create artwork and copy layouts for material to be presented by visual communications media such as newspapers, magazines, video and a wide variety of print media. This specialist is responsible for design concepts for large promotional campaigns and takes a leadership role with team designers to ensure consistency of look and message.

Responsibilities:

• Meet clients to discuss, understand and clearly interpret the clients' business needs
• Design briefs by gathering information and data to clarify design issues
• Responsible for the design, layout and coordination of marketing collateral materials, such as: graphic assets (logos and product photos), promotional flyers, printed and electronic advertisements, direct mail pieces, banners, tradeshow graphics, catalogs, PowerPoint presentations, etc.
• Develop artwork to internal branding requirements. Review final material and suggest improvements as needed
• Responsible to lead the design efforts including concepts and production for large, multi level, promotional campaigns
• Working with the Department Manager, functionally lead the team in planning, and executing multiple projects simultaneously to ensure project meets brand guidelines and customer expectations
• Required to assist in developing u00bfbest practicesu00bf to increase productivity within the department. Organize and maintain Asset Library, coordinate with Marketing on up to date information and disseminate to the team
• Must work well in a team environment with printers, copywriters, photographers, web designers, other graphic designers, marketing account executives/Managers and other marketing specialists
• Supports Field Sales, National Accounts, Marketing and numerous departments throughout the company with the creation of promotional pieces, insight on design, guidance on proper usage of brand assets. Deals directly with Travel Agent community on select projects and the creation of promotions

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree (B.A.) from an accredited four-year college or university
• Must have proven experience in a Graphic Designer/Artist role in a fast-paced, multi-project corporate environment
• Proven experience in Mac and Windows applications including Quark Xpress, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop is required
• Experience in the pre-press process and a working knowledge of lithography
• Web design knowledge, a plus
• Proven experience in Mac and Windows applications including InDesign, Quark Xpress, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop is required
• Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced, high pressure environment
