We are pleased to announce that we are looking to hire a 2nd Engineer for the Engine Department, working for the BSMCruise managed vessels.

Your responsibility will include, but will not be limited to:

Main Responsibilities:

l Maintenance and repair of:
– Deck machinery
– Lifeboats and tender boats
– Any other equipment assigned onboard
l Assist EoD with maintenance as required
l Ensure appropriate Permits to Work are issued and followed
l Report to SiC-E:
– Accidents and Incidents, Near Misses, Unsafe Conditions, Unsafe Acts and Property Damage
– Non-conformities or defects if/when discovered
– Maintenance requirements and progress updates
– Work and rest hour breaches / records
l Compliance with safe working practices
l Speaking up if/when unsafe practices or conditions are identified
l Compliance with BSM’s SMS and international standards and regulations

Monitor

l Ship’s condition and maintenance programmes
l Inventory of spares
l Performance of engine room watch keeping officers and crew

Key Attributes:
• Previous shipboard experience or relevant experience in similar position
• Fluent in English – must have excellent oral and written communication skills
• Flexibility – must be able to work various times of the day, remain calm under pressure and have a can-do attitude

Language Requirements
Good knowledge of the English language is required.

Work Experience Requirements

All applicants must have previous experience in working on a Cruise Ship.
