Assistant Storekeeper - Deck and Engine Team

We are pleased to announce that we are looking to hire a Assistant Storekeeper for the Deck & Engine Department, working for the BSMCruise managed vessels.

Your responsibility will include, but will not be limited to:

Main Responsibilities:

Manage all inventory and stores for deck and engine departments in onboard system.
Maintain cleanliness, organization and sufficient stocks of spares and consumables.
Raise requisitions as directed by HoDD and HoED
Receive deliveries and confirm goods received in onboard system.
Inventory control and requisitions for uniform and working clothes.
Compliance with safe working practices
Speaking up and/or stopping work when unsafe practices or conditions are identified.
Compliance with BSM’s SMS and international standards and regulations

Other duties and responsibilities:

Form part of the emergency response team (specific duties as per ship’s emergency organisation)
Ship security duties.
Environmental compliance
Participate in emergency training and drills.
Report any non-conformities or defects.
Keep and promote high standards of discipline and behaviour.
Perform additional tasks as assigned by the HoDD and HoED

Minimum Qualifications:

Working knowledge of engine equipment and spares
Good knowledge of safety requirements
Good verbal and written command of the English language
Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
Diligence and punctuality
Ability to work well with multinational crew.
Neat appearance
Key Attributes:

• Previous shipboard experience or relevant experience in similar position
• Fluent in English – must have excellent oral and written communication skills
• Flexibility – must be able to work various times of the day, remain calm under pressure and have a can-do attitude
• Employee focused with a positive personality and professional attitude
