support the kitchen in meal preparation, ensure food safety and hygiene and assist in maintaining kitchen cleanliness and organization.

Key responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen
• Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are met
• Support inventory management and supply ordering
• Assist with daily kitchen operations and tasks as needed
• Collaborate with the culinary team on menu execution

Qualifications:

• Experience as a cook in a high volume kitchen
• Strong culinary skills and knowledge of basic cooking techniques
• Good organizational and multitasking abilities
• Team player with good communication skills
• Culinary degree or relevant certification is a plus
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations
• Proficiency in English required, French language skills are an advantage

Required certification:

• STCW Basic Safety Training (BST)
o Personal survival techniques (PST)
o Fire prevention and firefighting (PPFF)
o Elementary first aid (EFA)
o Personal safety and social responsibilities (PSSR)
• Security Awareness Training
• Crowd Management Training
• Medical Certificate (valid and compliant with STCW and flag state standards)
• Seaman’s book
• Passport (min. validity 6 months)
• Visa (if required by embarkation port or vessel itinerary)
• Yellow fever vaccination (only in high-risk trade areas)
• Measles vaccination (only in high-risk trade areas)
• Covid vaccination (WHO approved fully vaccinated / booster recommended)
