Buffet Attendant

we are seeking an enthusiastic and service-oriented buffet attendant to join our food and beverage team onboard.

Key responsibilities:

• Set up, maintain and replenish stations with food and beverages
• Ensure the buffet area is clean, organized and visually appealing
• Assist guests with inquiries and provide excellent customer service
• Monitor food temperatures and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
• Handle food items safely an ensure proper hygiene practices
• Assist in the preparation and arrangement of food items as needed
• Clean and sanitize buffer stations and equipment regularly
• Collaborate with kitchen and serving staff to ensure efficient service

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a food service or hospitality environment is preferred
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work in fast-paced environment
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks
• Proficiency in English required, French language skills are an advantage

Required certification:

• STCW Basic Safety Training (BST)
o Personal survival techniques (PST)
o Fire prevention and firefighting (PPFF)
o Elementary first aid (EFA)
o Personal safety and social responsibilities (PSSR)
• Security Awareness Training
• Crowd Management Training
• Medical Certificate (valid and compliant with STCW and flag state standards)
• Seaman’s book
• Passport (min. validity 6 months)
• Visa (if required by embarkation port or vessel itinerary)
• Yellow fever vaccination (only in high-risk trade areas)
• Measles vaccination (only in high-risk trade areas)
• Covid vaccination (WHO approved fully vaccinated / booster recommended)
