The Port and Destination Manager is part of the onboard Entertainment team and is responsible for helping residents/guests make the most of their time in every port. Reporting to, and working with the onboard Voyage Director this role plays a key part in the day to day life onboard the ship.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provides residents/guests with port information and gives help and guidance on what tours they might like.
• Giving guidance and helping residents/guests book their own tours mainly using specific suppliers.
• Monitor suppliers and feedback to Voyage Director and other management any issues or complaints.
• Socialize with residents/guests on a regular basis.
• Give port lectures and answers questions for each port.
• Assist with residents/guests if they have any issues with finding their tour meeting point.
• Work with Voyage Director to help make sure the onboard programme meets the needs of the residents/guests.
• Manage the Shore/Port desk and advertise any specific opening hours
• Assist other members of the team where necessary.
• Perform ship’s safety function, including “Port Manning”, as required.
• Ability to perform safety functions and pass a pre-employment medical exam.
WHAT YOU GET:
• Salary of $2500 per month

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:
• At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role on a ship.
• Experience in delivering port lectures
• Proven experience in delivering top class customer service
• Ability to run a department and take pro-active decisions.
• Well organised and ability to work under pressure.
• Outgoing personality with a ‘can-do’ attitude
• Ability to communicate professionally and clearly with passengers and fellow crew
• Fluent in the English language (extra languages are a bonus)
Documents required to join one of our ships:
• Valid Passport (with at least 1 year validity)
• C1D visa
• Seamans book
• Police Clearance
• ENG1 (or equivalent) medical

1. Security Awareness Training (A-V1/6)
2. Personal Survival Techniques (STCW AVI-1-1)
3. Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting (STCW AVI-1-2)
4. Personal Safety & Social Responsibilities (STCW AVI-1-4)
5. Crowd Management and Passenger Safety (A-V/2)
6. Crisis Management and Human Behaviour (A-V/2 & A-V/3)
