Position Summary

Receives, stores, and distributes hotel consumable and disposable items, material, tools, equipment, and products throughout the vessel by performing the following duties. The assigned storeroom supports the following shipboard functions: Casino, Entertainment & Guest Activities, Housekeeping, Financial Operations, Guest Services, Beauty Salon and Shops On Board.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

All duties and responsibilities are to be performed in accordance with Royal Caribbean International’s The Royal Way, SQM standards, USPH guidelines, environmental, and safety policies. Each shipboard employee may be required to perform all functions in various food and beverage service venues throughout the ship.


In accordance with Royal Caribbean International’s philosophy ofAnchored in Excellence, each employee conducts oneself in a professional and courteous manner at all times. This consists of physical and verbal interactions guests or fellow shipboard employees and/or in the presence of guest contact and crew areas.

  • Each shipboard employee reports to their workstation assignment on time and properly groomed and dressed according to Royal Caribbean International’s brand standards. This includes a clean uniform, nametag, and any other uniform related item.
  • Reads loading schedule, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
  • Operates forklift to transports materials and items from loading areas to storage or to other designated areas. Transports stored items from storeroom or to pick up items from several locations throughout the vessel.
  • Opens bales, crates, and other containers. Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
  • Sorts and stores perishable goods in refrigerated rooms.
  • Weighs or counts items for distribution to ensure conformance to company standards.
  • Compiles worksheets or tickets from department specifications. Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to departments. Places orders on pallets, carts or shelves, or transports orders to department.
  • Marks materials with identifying information.
  • Maintains work area in a clean and orderly manner and according to USPH standards.
  • Maintains inventory records. Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed. Uses computer to enter records.
  • May prepare parcels for mailing.
  • Attends meetings, training activities, courses and all other work-related activities as required.
