As a member of the Entertainment Team, you will be hosting/leading/participating in events and activities such as quizzes, staged-challenges, sports competitions, poolside events, karaoke, demonstrations, sail away and deck parties, and you must make your presence known to the guests as much as possible. Daily PR and social networking around the ship, alongside the hosting of events must be undertaken in order to maximise the Entertainment Team’s profile.
Supporting other departments with revenue generation, assisted by the daily programme and regular advertising is also a vital part of your role.
As a member of the Entertainment Department, a position of responsibility will be held with regards to emergency procedures, guest mustering and drills; specific training will be received regarding this, both prior to joining and regularly on board.

To deliver and promote the entertainment package to an exceptionally high standard.
To host and participate in a number of daily events and activities, including quizzes, staged-challenges, sports competitions, poolside events, karaoke, demonstrations, sail away events and deck parties.

Skillset:

  • To DJ within various venues, including hosting/leading the late night disco and Silent Discos within the ship’s nightclub.
  • To participate in party dance sessions and dance with guests at deck party events, encouraging participation through audience interaction.
  • To develop new skills where required.
  • Admin duties may be required from time to time, as instructed by the Assistant Cruise Director.
  • To create and enhance the guest experience on board.
  • To make regular revenue promotion announcements when hosting events around the ship (ie; advertising last minute availability on tours/Shop promotions/Cruise Holiday Store etc).
  • Assist the hotel operation; with guest mustering and organisation, embarkation duties, gangway assistance and crowd control.
  • To ensure your appearance and grooming guidelines are maintained at all times.
  • To uphold the standards set out in your training.
  • A position of onboard responsibility will be held with regards to emergency procedures, guest mustering and drills (full training received on board).

Experience

  • The Entertainment Hosts should have at least 2 year’s experience in working with diverse and varied entertainment programmes, within a ‘family audience’ cruise ship, holiday park, resort or hotel environment.
  • Professional microphone/hosting experience.
  • A basic knowledge of party dance routines. Experience in other dance styles (ie; Line Dancing, Salsa, Ballroom, Latin, Sequence) would also be beneficial, though not essential.
  • Experience of revenue promotion through an entertainment product.

Other: 

  • Must have a complete STCW training or willing to obtain prior to joining the ship.
  • Must hold a full passport, valid for the duration of the contract, plus six months.                                                                                                        
  •  Must hold a valid ENG1 Medical Certificate.
  • All acoomodaton/Flights/Meals and Insurance provided

Work Experience Requirements

All applicants must have previous experience in working on a Cruise Ship and in a 4/5* Hotel or Upscale Restaurant.
