V.Ships Leisure is looking for Cruise Staff - Activities on behalf of Silversea Cruises.
Responsible for delivering high quality, individualized and technically excellent daytime and evening actives in addition to general cruise staff duties. During sailing when younger guests sail, manage the youth coordination events. Reporting to the Cruise Director / Assistant Cruise Director. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible under the direction of Cruise Director to ensure a constant choice of onboard social events, activities and entertainment for guests during the voyage.
  • Initiating planning and coordination of onboard activities under the direction of Cruise Director (Including though not limited to Table Tennis, Shuffle Board, Golf Putting, Pool Volleyball, Dance Classes, Arts and Crafts seminars, Trivia and Game Shows and other interactive games, lectures and table hosting)
  • Ensures a friendly, jovial and positive attitude with guests at all times.
  • Schedule all entertainment crew involved in onboard activities and parties each voyage
  • Assists the Assistant Cruise Director/Cruise Director with administrative matters as required.
  • Maintains gifts and prizes inventory and coordinates orders with the Assistant Cruise Director/Cruise Director and the entertainment department.
  • Arranges and accompanies individual bridge tours for all guests.
  • Managing the timing of each day’s onboard activities to ensure that all runs smoothly.
  • Demonstrating genuine concern for guests’ well-being at all times.
  • Ensuring that guest requests, inquiries and complaints are responded to immediately.
  • Displays a thorough knowledge of the ships daily activities to be able to advise the guests.
  • Visits and constantly walks all areas of the vessel to proactively engage with guests in order to identify their expectations and needs, fulfilling them promptly. Verify the smooth running of any entertainment activities, acting on and following up on any issues found to ensure that standards are not affected.
  • Attends  Welcome/First Timers/Venetian/Farewell  Cocktail  parties  and  other  social  events  as scheduled by the ship’s management.
  • Attends door greets, welcomes guests entering and exiting the theater for evening shows.
  • Embarkation,  disembarkation  and  tour  dispatch  duties  in  cooperation  with  the  Guest  Relations Manager and Shore Concierge Manager.
  • Introduces lectures and events on stage if needed
  • Socializes with guests when in public rooms.
  • Hosts tables in the dining room on assigned evenings with special care given to dining with different guests, and especially guests traveling solo.
  • Adjusts the schedule and location independently when the overall daily operation changes.
  • Incorporates Company service standards, personalized service and sincere hospitality by creating positive experiences for guests, efficiently engaging with guests and anticipating guest needs.
  • Assists with the induction of new crew.
  • Performs all other duties as requested by supervisor.
  • Ensures a friendly, jovial and positive attitude with children/teens and guests at all times.
  • Ensures the safety and supervision of all children and teens participating in activities.
  • Interacts with children, teens as fits the occasion maintaining guest satisfaction at all times. This includes, but is not limited to hosting events for younger guests in coordination with our operational manual. 
  • Designs creative activities, implementing entertaining and educational programs for all ages.
  • Demonstrates genuine concern for the children/teens well-being at all times.
  • Organizes and leads youth activities in the designated activity center and throughout the vessel.
  • Participates in crew and passenger safety drills according to instructions.
  • Always  complies  with  the  Company’s  safety and  pollution  prevention  regulations  and operating procedures.
  • Participates in all mandatory training.
  • Leads by example by taking care of Health and Safety of self and others.
  • Ensures that all work equipment, personal protective equipment, chemicals and safety devices are being used correctly. Delivering training, guidance and supervision on how to use and maintain them.

Education/Experience/Qualifications:

  • Valid STCW certification.
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in a similar position in the entertainment industry within an international 5 star establishment.   Experience with working with Children
  • Knowledge producing events and activates 
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher preferred.
  • Physically and medically fit.
  • Moral integrity is required.
  • Excellent fluent English (verbal and written). English is the working and safety language on board Silversea vessels. This also includes the ability to give and receive instructions in verbal and written forms and to effectively and efficiently engage with guests and crew members.
