V.Ships Leisure is looking for Media Manager on behalf of Silversea Cruises.
Responsible for the coordination, production and quality control of all published onboard communication, delivering high quality, individualized and technically excellent guest services whilst complying with any Company Policies and towards a goal of achieving total guest satisfaction.
Works closely together with Corporate Office to make the onboard communication material a seamless integral part of the overall Silversea communication. Provide ideas for efficient and effective publications to enhance guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Timely production and publishing of the onboard communication (printed and digital).
- Designs, creates, and manages all published content (images, video and written) as dictated by the Corporate Office.
- Assists with the development of relevant, original, high-quality content.
- Ensures that all Silversea Standards as far as publications, both written and interactive are met according to the corporate look and brand standards as dictated by the Corporate Office.
- Proofing and printing of the menus for all food outlets in all required languages.
- Publication of all additional material/signage and heavy-duty copying as required by other departments, the onboard management and the Corporate Office.
- Assists with the coordination and translation of menus and other collateral into foreign languages.
- Reviews final layouts and suggests improvements if required.
- Displays active communication and regular exchange of information with other departments, shipboard management, other vessels and Corporate Office.
- Proactively contacts (both internally and externally) visiting journalists, writers, guest chefs, winemakers, entertainers and charters for any written publicity, liaising with, and reporting to the Corporate Office whenever this material was not coordinated in advance by the different Heads of Department such as Cruise Director, F&B Manager, Executive Chef and the Hotel Director.
- Practices preventative maintenance of equipment, regular backup of files and weekly requisitions of material needed for daily work.
- Carefully monitors and tracks consumption for all paper and toners used daily. Requests stock on hand and voyage consumption reports from the Hotel Stores Manager to assist in more accurately determining future paper and consumables needs. Works closely with the Hotel Stores Manager to ensure sufficient inventory based on container delivery schedules.
- Maintains a backup of the daily work for future reference.
- Assists the Corporate Office and shipboard management with the induction/training of new Media Mangers, DTPs and International Hostesses.
- Maintains a high level of communication and feedback with the Hotel Director.
- Interacts with management and fellow crew members on a regular basis to ensure that all necessary assignments are completed satisfactorily.
- Adheres to departmental standards, specifications and work routines.
- Properly and carefully uses ship equipment and truthfully reports faulty or broken equipment. Monitors repair progress with supervisor until repaired.
- Strives to minimize breakage and wastage and follows proper procedures when disposing of garbage.
- Displays cost and quality awareness.
- Proactively responds to issues or potential problems quickly and efficiently involving relevant people as required. Communicates any challenges, complaints or service difficulties to immediate supervisor.
- Attends all training sessions with the aim to further improve his/her level of performance.
- Adherence to the Company’s code of conduct at all times.
- Practices good administrative housekeeping.
- Ensures confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
- Maintains that the working area is kept clean and tidy at all times.
- Adheres to Standard Operating Procedures set forth by the Company, and is accountable for such practices.
- Keeps the Hotel Director promptly and fully informed of all problems and matters of significance.
- Observes and enforces uniform standards according to Company policies.
- All other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience/Qualifications:
- Proactively responds to issues or potential problems quickly and efficiently involving relevant people as required. Communicates any challenges, complaints or service difficulties to immediate supervisor.
- Attends all training sessions with the aim to further improve his/her level of performance.
- Adherence to the Company’s code of conduct at all times.
- Practices good administrative housekeeping.
- Ensures confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
- Maintains that the working area is kept clean and tidy at all times.
- Adheres to Standard Operating Procedures set forth by the Company, and is accountable for such practices.
- Keeps the Hotel Director promptly and fully informed of all problems and matters of significance.
- Observes and enforces uniform standards according to Company policies.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Excellent fluent English (verbal and written). Highly articulate with an excellent command of written English. Fluency in 2 or more languages in addition to English (German, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Mandarin).
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office package.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite programs and Quark Xpress.
- Familiar with publishing content through a content management system.
