We are seeking a skilled and experienced Chief Electrical Engineer to join our cruise ship fleet.

The Chief Electrician is responsible for the monitoring, maintenance and repairs of all electrical, electronic and Information Technology equipment and installations on board. This includes the electrical side of Hotel, Deck and Safety equipment installations, such as elevators, winches and Tender/Lifeboats.

The Chief Electrician is responsible for:
·Leading the officers and ratings assigned to his area of responsibility in executing maintenance and repairs.
·The overall maintenance, condition and servicing of the vessels elevators, working with the assistance of the Hotel Services Engineer;
·Ensuring that the officers and ratings assigned to his area of responsibility are familiar with the Company's Management System relevant to their duties and responsibilities;
·Motivating the officers and ratings assigned to his area of responsibility in executing their duties according to the Company's Management System;
·Ensuring that a robust Safety & Health culture and Environmental & Energy awareness is encouraged and maintained;
·Ensuring that activities are well planned, organized and safeguards established against all identified risks;
·Ensuring that corrective and preventive actions are implemented in a timely and effective manner;
·Ensuring organisation and stowage of spares and consumables, and compliance with stock control requirements;
·Reporting directly to the Chief Engineer occurrences that could either directly or indirectly lead to an adverse effect on Quality, Safety, Health, Environment & Energy, Security operational capability or reliability;
·Reviewing the Company’s Management System on a regular basis and reporting to the Chief Engineer proposals for improvement.

The Chief Electrician reports and is accountable to the Chief Engineer.
