As the Supervisor Pools and Decks , you’ll lead the team responsible for maintaining all aquatic and open-deck guest areas onboard. You’ll oversee operations with a focus on safety, cleanliness, and hospitality—creating memorable guest experiences while upholding shipboard standards.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform special assignments as directed by onboard Housekeeping management and report any issues encountered during these tasks

  • Supervise all housekeeping operations across open deck areas including verandas, swimming pools, whirlpools, and related zones
  • Lead, train, and develop team members assigned to outdoor cleaning and pool areas
  • Maintain a safe working environment and ensure proper cleanliness of equipment and lockers located in open deck zones
  • Enforce waste separation and compliance with the ship's garbage management program
  • Report any repair or maintenance needs directly to Assistant Housekeeping Managers
  • Monitor and document chlorine, bromide, and pH levels in pools and whirlpools in accordance with sanitation standards
  • Ensure cleaning procedures on port days follow operational restrictions and guidelines
  • Supervise and monitor swimming pool and water slide operations to ensure safety and guest satisfaction
  • Oversee timely opening and closing of aquatic facilities including pools, whirlpools, towel stations, and slides
  • Manage beach towel operations, inventory, and distribution
  • Ensure proper labeling, handling, and secure storage of all deck chemicals
  • Maintain order and secure storage of deck chairs when not in use
  • Oversee daily cleaning of deck drainage channels and ensure all glass, brass, and stainless steel surfaces are rust-free and polished
  • Immediately report any safety concerns involving guests or crew to Housekeeping leadership
  • Provide courteous greetings to all guests and crew, promoting a warm and professional onboard atmosphere
  • Apply hospitality standards consistently in all public and crew areas
  • Follow established safety regulations including emergency drills and handling of recreational water facilities (RWF)
  • Comply with onboard environmental, sanitation, and health management systems (USPH, HESS-MS) as required
  • Adhere to the vessel’s attendance and punctuality policies

Position Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in housekeeping or facility operations within a hotel, resort, water park, or leisure facility.
  • Solid understanding of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in housekeeping, especially related to outdoor areas
  • Ability to train, organize, and manage a small team of up to 20 persons
  • Basic knowledge of pool care, chemical handling, and outdoor facility safety
  • Comfortable working extended hours in outdoor environments and around guests
  • High standard of English communication, both written and spoken
  • Conversational skills in Spanish or Portuguese are an asset
  • Proficient with office tools and applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Must be 21 years or older.
