As Manager, Workforce Planning and Scheduling, you will be responsible for managing and directing a group of non-exempt and exempt employees. You will oversee the group that plans & provides short & long term work force planning & movements for all shipboard employee movements.

Career Snapshot:

  • Focus on strategic development of workforce planning, recruiting, scheduling, and logistics to meet the needs of the fleet.
  • Manages the effective communication and collaboration between shipboard teams, IT, Fleet Operations, HR, Crew & corporate travel, Hiring partners.
  • Ensures the team effectively executes all related policies and procedures & all of the human resources needs are met in a timely manner.
  • Mentors, develops and provides on-the-job training to team members to strengthen their current performance and future succession development.
  • Works closely with fleet operations, HR to clearly understand sourcing current and future workforce needs and plan accordingly. This includes GAP pool & Hiring Partners.
  • Travel to the vessels 2-14 days annually or as needed on a periodic basis to maintain and strengthen relationships with the ships staff to understand and facilitate their needs and be proactive.
  • Develops best practice recommendations for the fleet.
  • Recognizes opportunities for improving systems and procedures hence providing a quality shipboard workforce in the right place & at the right time.
  • Monitors and tracks results thru Key performance indicators.
  • Develops and maintains budgets and meets financial goals.
  • Identifies gaps and creates policies and procedures that lead to efficiency for the workforce planning and scheduling team.
  • Performs or participates in special project or other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of shipboard functions & organization structure onboard a cruise ship.
  • Familiarity with world geography & time differences.
  • Bachelor's degree in HR / Business administration or related field from an accredited college or university or the international equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years management experience within the HR / Hospitality/Cruise industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate in a multicultural environment with all levels of employees and management.
  • Working knowledge of personal computers within a Windows environment with e-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint & other automation.

Preferences:

  • Knowledge of applicable Flag state, port state and other immigration and visa requirements related to seafarers globally preferred.
