Second Engineer ( watch keeper ) for Marella Cruises

We are looking for Second Engineer ( watch keeper ) for MARELLA Cruises
Embarkation: 30/Nov/2025 and 01/March/2026
Contract 3 months on / 2 months off
Reporting line: Staff Chief Engineer

Direct reports: None

Department: Engine

Qualifications: as per C601D (Marella Cruises) Training & Certification Matrix

Key Responsibilities

In addition to those normal duties as outlined in the V.Ships VMS:

· Keeping scheduled watches in the ECR (engine control room) and working in engine room

· Reporting any machinery defects affecting safe and environmentally sound vessel operation

· Ensuring all engine room safety equipment is in optimal condition

· Conducting proactive maintenance and repairs

· Creating requisitions and performs periodic inventory of spares and consumables related to area of responsibility

· Updating the Planned Maintenance System (PMS) with clear records

· Being directly in charge of particular groups of equipment, which can include air compressors, boilers, economisers, R.O. plants, evaporators, purifiers, and etc

· Maintaining the working area clean, safe, and handling tools and equipment with care

· Participating in emergency drills and responding to actual emergencies as per the Muster List

· Adhering to all safety regulations and using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) during work activities

· Adhering to and complying with all Company Policies and Procedures, Manuals and Directives

· Performing duties and tasks according to above but not limited to that.

Additional responsibilities:

· Attend passenger social events as directed by the Head of Department.

· Partake in inspections, trainings and meetings as directed by the Head of Department.

· Other shipboard tasks pertaining to departmental operations as directed by Head of Department.

· Attending trainings and office visits arranged by V.Ships Leisure where possible
