The Chef de Rang is responsible for the smooth running of the service area assigned to him in the respective restaurants

The Chef de Rang is the host in the service area assigned to him and always exemplifies the willingness to serve the guest.

Direct report to the Asst. Maitre d' Hotel or the Head Waiter and Supervisor of the subordinate position

Commis de Rang

Responsible for guest satisfaction in assigned service station.

Friendly and efficient handling of guest complaints regarding service & kitchen quality, ensuring guest satisfaction at all times and ensuring that all guest complaints and comments are reported to the Asst. Maitre d' in charge. Maitre d' Hotel | Head Waiter are passed on.

Responsible for knowing all menu components & specials offered at each restaurant

Responsible for making food & beverage recommendations to the guest

Responsible for taking orders, ensuring proper set up/replenishment at the guest and the entire call off/serving process with ship specific ordering procedures and receipt systems

Responsible for mise en place & set-up work at assigned service station prior to start of service

Responsible for basic cleanliness in assigned service station as well as proper table setting & chair alignment

Responsible for rework in the assigned service station and the execution of daily cleaning work in the respective restaurant

Implementation of booking procedures and related administrative activities in close cooperation with the Asst. Maitre d' Hotel

Constant willingness to taste the food and beverages associated with the menu

Preparation of menu presentations & briefings

Strict adherence to safety, environmental and sanitation guidelines (ShipSan, USPH/HACCP, ISM/&ISO, SQM, HLC service standards) in area of responsibility.

Knowledge of assigned safety role number based on muster roll and specific emergency duties.

Work Experience Requirements

All applicants must have previous experience in working on a Cruise Ship, in a 4/5* Hotel or in an Upscale Restaurant.

Language Requirements

Good knowledge of the English language is required.
