We are currently seeking a rotational Chief Engineer to join the world's largest superyacht:

m/y SOMNIO — 222m private residential superyacht (yacht-liner)
Undergoing final commissioning and sea trials (with upcoming Mediterranean cruising season planned, followed by global voyages in the future)
Standard rotational leave (typically 2:1 or similar, depending on operational needs)
Salary DOE (competitive, commensurate with the vessel's prestige and scale)
Start date: March 2026
We are looking for an experienced Chief Engineer

The ideal candidate is a very hands-on, proactive, organised, and solution-focused engineer who thrives in a high-profile, cutting-edge environment. Key competencies include:

Proven expertise in managing shipyard periods, refits, warranty claims, and commissioning phases (essential, as the vessel is transitioning from build/sea trials to operational status).
Strong technical leadership in overseeing complex engineering systems on a large-scale superyacht (33,500 GT, advanced hybrid/innovative propulsion likely).
Effective technical reporting and documentation, including detailed defect logs, maintenance records, compliance documentation, and class/surveyor liaison.
Confident ability to liaise with shipyards (e.g., VARD/Fincantieri teams), surveyors, contractors, classification societies, and senior management/owners.
Hands-on troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and team management (supervising junior engineers in a rotational setup).
