2nd Electrician On Passenger Vessel

Duties, Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Main Responsibilities:
Safe use and operation of electrical equipment
Contribute to monitoring the operation of electrical systems and machinery
Use hand tools, electrical and electronic measurement equipment for fault finding, maintenance and repair operations
Contribute to shipboard maintenance and repair
Contribute to the maintenance and repair of electrical systems and machinery on board
Cleanliness and order of electrical stores and lockers
Respond to work requirements as directed
Interact with passengers in a professional and friendly manner
Compliance with Permits to Work that are in force
Compliance with safe working practices
Speaking up and / or stopping work when unsafe practices or conditions are identified
Compliance with BSM’s SMS and international standards and regulations

Other duties and responsibilities:
Form part of the emergency response team (specific duties as per ship’s emergency organisation)
Report accidents and incidents to the HoEI
Environmental compliance
Participate in emergency training and drills
Report any non-conformities or defects
Keep and promote high standards of discipline and behaviour
Perform additional tasks as assigned by the ETO and HoEI

Minimum Qualifications:
Requirements as per company certification matrix
Up-to-date technical knowledge of electrical equipment and systems
Good knowledge of safety requirements
Good verbal and written command of the English language
Diligence and punctuality
Welcoming and friendly attitude to passengers
Ability to work well with multinational crew
Neat appearance

Additional language skills

If new hire as 2nd Electrician:
12 months of experience as Assistant Electrician or equivalent
At least two excellent appraisal reports or references
