Position Overview

As Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for producing high‑quality pastries, cakes, doughs, creams, fillings, and desserts for our guests. You will work closely with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef to deliver consistent, high‑standard pastry creations that align with Amadeus River Cruises’ culinary guidelines. This role requires strong technical pastry skills, excellent hygiene standards, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced cruise ship galley.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare daily pastry items including sponge cakes, doughs, creams, fillings, and ice cream
• Follow menus, recipes, and production guidelines provided by the Executive Chef
• Manage perishable ingredients and check fresh produce to avoid shortages
• Maintain strict hygiene and HACCP standards in all pastry operations
• Support inventory control
• Prepare desserts for special dietary needs (vegan, gluten‑free, allergies)
• Participate in culinary events, guest interactions, and onboard demonstrations
• Assist with general ship operations such as loading, garbage handling, and safety drills

Experience & Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of professional pastry experience
• Strong knowledge of pastry production and showpiece techniques
• Deep understanding of HACCP and food safety procedures
• Good English communication skills
• Organized, disciplined, and reliable work ethic
• Well‑groomed appearance and excellent personal hygiene
