EXPERIENCE:

  • Advanced level of supervisory knowledge in running a shift with multiple bars and lounges with different themes and menus is required.
  • Knowledge of international cocktails, spirits and ability to talk about them.

Responsible for training bartenders, using our methodology for creating balanced and
great tasting cocktails each and every time. He/ she must encourage the bartenders to create
original craft cocktails that are both cost effective and foster a unique guest experience with the
ultimate goal of improving both company profits and overall pride in product and service. This is a
hands-on position and must have an acute focus on providing the Bartenders with the knowledge
to consistently execute and innovate, to keep our product high end and on trend.
Activities to be managed (and executed) include (but are not limited to):
1. Cocktail demonstrations
2. Spirit seminars and various tastings organized
3. Training and coaching Bartenders to keep Company standards as required

In order to consistently exceed guest expectations and provide the highest levels of product and
services, additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
SPECIFIC JOB REQUIREMENTS:


 Responsible to adhere to all onboard safety regulations, SEMS, Public Health.
 Follows Company RSA ( Responsible Service of Alcohol ).
 English is the first language on board. Respect and listen carefully before answering our
guests.
 Adheres to the company appearance and grooming standards ( Windstar Look ).
 Works directly with the bar staff using a hands-on approach by working behind the bar
together with the Bartenders during busy hours, as well as providing coverage during their
meal hours and whenever necessary.
 Conducts all the necessary training, especially “on the job training”,to develop each
individual to reach the required level of service standards.
 Responsible for following GIL log - entry and closing.
 Monitors pouring standards of the Bartenders.
 Responsible for ensuring that Company standards of service for beverage and wine are
being followed and that the standard drink recipes, including proper garnishes, are adhered
to.
 Responsible for assisting in ensuring that the beverage sales forecast for bars and lounges
on the ship are met and exceeded.
 Responsible for assisting in achieving the guest satisfaction targets established for the ship
in bar service and product quality.
 Strives to meet the target cost of sales for the operation as determined by the company
budgets.
 Ensures that all company beverage service standards and sequence of service are being
followed and adhered to by the staff while on duty.

 Ensures that the beverages used for hosting purposes in the restaurants are in accordance
with company policy and guidelines.
 Liaises with the Controller in order to determine what labels from the hosting selection need
to be used in order to maintain stocks on hand within the goals set by the company
 Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of wine displays
 Responsible for maintaining and executing all special beverage promotions designed to
increase beverage sales in all on board outlets
 Responsible for the proper use and maintenance of glassware and other wine related
equipment used in the restaurants to include but not be limited to: wine list & covers, ice
buckets, wine savers, decanting equipment, specialty glassware, bar equipment, check
covers and wine tasters
