Role Overview:
- The Engine Mechanic supports the engineering team in maintaining and repairing all mechanical systems onboard the cruise vessel, ensuring safe and efficient operation in accordance with maritime regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- - Perform maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, pumps, compressors, purifiers, and auxiliary machinery.
- - Assist with watchkeeping, machinery monitoring, and daily engine room inspections.
- - Troubleshoot mechanical issues and report findings to engineering officers.
- - Follow all safety, environmental, and operational procedures (STCW, SOLAS, MARPOL).
- - Participate in emergency drills and maintain a clean, safe engine workspace.
Requirements:
- - Sea service experience.
- - Valid C1D visa.
- - Marine engineering or mechanical vocational training.
- - Mechanical maintenance experience (marine industry preferred).
- - STCW Basic Safety Training.
- - Good English communication skills.
- - Ability to work in rotating shifts and demanding engine room conditions.
