Role Overview:

  • The Engine Mechanic supports the engineering team in maintaining and repairing all mechanical systems onboard the cruise vessel, ensuring safe and efficient operation in accordance with maritime regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • - Perform maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, pumps, compressors, purifiers, and auxiliary machinery.
  • - Assist with watchkeeping, machinery monitoring, and daily engine room inspections.
  • - Troubleshoot mechanical issues and report findings to engineering officers.
  • - Follow all safety, environmental, and operational procedures (STCW, SOLAS, MARPOL).
  • - Participate in emergency drills and maintain a clean, safe engine workspace.

Requirements:

  • - Sea service experience.
  • - Valid C1D visa.
  • - Marine engineering or mechanical vocational training.
  • - Mechanical maintenance experience (marine industry preferred).
  • - STCW Basic Safety Training.
  • - Good English communication skills.
  • - Ability to work in rotating shifts and demanding engine room conditions.
