V.Ships Leisure is looking for Restaurant Manager on behalf of Mitsui Ocean Cruises.

The Restaurant Manager focuses on the overall management of dining standards across all guest and crew restaurants, guest buffets, and outdoors food outlets, ensuring optimum guest satisfaction throughout all dining venues. The position will be responsible as well for coordinating all dining arrangements across all restaurants, meal services, suggesting Crew Members rotations, maintaining sanitation protocols in the assigned locations, while resolving guest concerns or issues related to dining service experiences throughout all dining outlets and mealtimes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the dining room, including seating arrangements, table settings, and meal service, to ensure a smooth and efficient dining experience for guests.
  • Greeting guests as they arrive in the dining room, escorting them to their tables, and ensuring that seating arrangements are organized according to guest preferences, reservation status, and special requests.
  • Supervising the dining room staff, including waiters, bussers, and host/hostesses, and providing guidance, support, and feedback to maintain high-quality service standards.
  • Conducts staff training sessions to familiarize new hires with service protocols, menu offerings, and guest interaction techniques and provide ongoing training to improve staff performance.
  • Interacting with guests throughout their dining experience, ensuring that their needs are met, preferences are accommodated, and any concerns or complaints are addressed promptly and effectively.
  • Monitoring guest satisfaction levels, soliciting feedback, and taking appropriate actions to enhance the dining experience and exceed guest expectations.
  • Managing guests' special requests, dietary restrictions, and meal preferences, ensuring that they are accurately communicated to the kitchen staff and accommodated during meal service.
  • Handling reservation inquiries, confirming bookings, and managing waitlists to maximize seating efficiency and minimize guest wait times during peak dining hours.
  • Presenting menus to guests, providing recommendations and descriptions of menu items, and assisting guests with menu selections based on their preferences and dietary requirements.
  • Promoting special menu items, wine pairings, and beverage options to guests, upselling premium selections, and maximizing revenue opportunities through effective menu presentation and suggestive selling techniques.
  • Ensuring that food and beverage offerings are presented and served according to established standards of quality, presentation, and timing, maintaining consistency and excellence in every aspect of the dining experience.
  • Conducts regular inspections of the dining room, table settings, and service areas to identify and address any issues or deficiencies in cleanliness, organization, or appearance.
  • Performing administrative tasks related to dining room operations, such as maintaining guest reservation records, compiling guest feedback and satisfaction surveys, and preparing reports for management review.
