About the Position

The ET/IT Technician supports the Chief Electronic Engineer, Electronic Engineer, and IT Officer with the daily operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic and IT systems throughout the vessel.

The role is responsible for conducting daily checks of assigned systems, responding to electronic department work orders, supporting residents and guests with technical issues, and helping ensure all shipboard systems remain safe, reliable, and fully operational.

Responsibilities will be assigned according to the successful candidate's skills and experience.

Key Responsibilities
Attend the daily morning meeting.
Maintain a thorough understanding of the Safety Management System and responsibilities within the Safety Organization and Emergency Plan.
Cover IT Technician duties as required.
Assist with the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic systems throughout the vessel, including:
Fire systems
Public Address (PA) systems
Telephone systems
Audio/Visual systems
IT systems
Dimmer systems
Sound and lighting systems
Caretaker systems
UHF radio systems
Copy machines
TV and radio systems
Cabling and connectivity
Take responsibility for maintenance and troubleshooting of assigned systems, including Sound Powered Systems, Talkback Systems, Low Location Lighting Systems, Master Clock Systems, Telephones, UHF Radios, UPS systems, Trap Alarm Systems, and Electronic Safes.
Assist residents and guests with troubleshooting electronic systems within their apartments.
Support the Electrical Department with troubleshooting faulty electronic cards in electrical systems.
Participate in the shared 24-hour on-call rotation with the IT Technician.
Keep AMOS-W records up to date, including onboard electronic stock movements and general inventory control.
Maintain clean and organized workshops, offices, and storerooms.
Follow and champion the company's security awareness program.
Recommend new processes and technologies to improve the vessel's cybersecurity posture.
Perform duties according to the instructions of the appropriate Superior Officer.
Ensure all work is performed safely, professionally, and efficiently to maintain shipboard equipment at the highest level of safe operating condition.


Qualifications, Education & Experience


Knowledge of Broadcast Systems, External Communication Systems, Bridge Systems, Machinery Systems, and Safety Systems.
Experience working with electronic systems, with the ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment independently.
Willingness to learn new technical systems.
Genuine interest in electronics, computers, communications, and related technologies.
Good written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate effectively with residents, guests, and crew.
Strong commitment to safety, teamwork, professionalism, and customer service.
