We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Beverage Operations Manager to join our shipboard Beverage Operations .
This is an entry-level management position designed for a high-potential hospitality professional with strong beverage operations, administrative, and financial control experience. The successful candidate will support the day-to-day administration and operational oversight of the ship's beverage program, with a strong focus on cost control, inventory management, reporting, compliance, and service standards.
The role will also provide hands-on leadership and coaching to the Beverage team, helping to maintain high standards of guest service, operational efficiency, and team performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Beverage Operations & Administration
Support the Beverage Operations Manager with the day-to-day administration and operational oversight of the Beverage Department.
Ensure all beverage operations are carried out in accordance with company policies, safety procedures, sanitation requirements, and environmental standards.
Prepare and manage end-of-voyage and turnaround reports.
Monitor and analyse Cost of Sales (COS) and daily revenue performance.
Maintain accurate beverage inventory databases and operational records.
Manage and monitor POS and inventory systems, including InfoGenesis or equivalent systems.
Generate and submit daily revenue and cost reports, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
Conduct regular beverage package audits, including guest folio checks and zero-value transaction reviews.
Monitor Consumables & Replaceables (C&R) inventory and ensure minimum par levels are maintained.
Coordinate regular inventory cycle counts, reconcile physical stock against system records, and investigate discrepancies.
Identify and report inventory losses, spoilage, breakage, or other inconsistencies.
Coordinate minibar spot checks with the Housekeeping Department.
Assist with custom declarations and other beverage-related administrative requirements.
Leadership & Team Management
Provide visible and effective leadership to Bartenders, Senior Bartenders, Bar Servers, Private Bar Attendants, and Bar Backs.
Promote a culture of professionalism, collaboration, accountability, and respect.
Lead by example and consistently demonstrate high standards of hospitality and guest service.
Support the Beverage Operations Manager in achieving key performance indicators, including revenue, cost control, service quality, sanitation scores, and crew satisfaction.
Provide on-the-job coaching, mentoring, and constructive feedback to team members.
Support employee development and contribute to identifying high-potential team members for future progression.
Ensure team members understand and comply with operational procedures, company policies, and service standards.
Financial & Inventory Control
Maintain strong controls over beverage inventory, revenue, and operational costs.
Monitor daily Cost of Sales and revenue reports and identify potential variances.
Conduct spot checks and audits to ensure financial and inventory procedures are being followed correctly.
Investigate discrepancies and provide accurate reports and recommendations to management.
Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of all financial, inventory, and operational data.
Requirements
Minimum 3 years of progressive shipboard experience in Food & Beverage operations.
Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Strong knowledge of beverage operations, inventory control, cost analysis, and administrative procedures.
Experience using POS and inventory management systems.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Working knowledge of USPH, sanitation, environmental, and safety standards.
Strong analytical and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multicultural, and high-volume environment.
Fluent written and spoken English, with the ability to read and understand SOPs, technical documentation, policies, and training materials.

Physical & Shipboard Requirements
The successful candidate must be able to:
Stand and walk for extended periods.
Lift and handle items weighing up to 50 lbs / approximately 23 kg.
Participate in shipboard emergency drills and emergency procedures.
Meet the physical requirements necessary to safely perform guest- and crew-facing duties.
Demonstrate the required range of motion, hearing, vision, and speech for effective workplace communication.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for a hands-on hospitality professional who combines strong operational knowledge with excellent administrative and analytical skills.
The ideal candidate will be organised, commercially aware, confident with systems and reporting, and comfortable taking responsibility for inventory, cost control, and compliance. You should also be passionate about developing people and delivering consistently high levels of guest service.
Previous cruise ship experience is an advantage, but candidates with strong luxury hotel or high-volume hospitality backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
Work Experience Requirements
All applicants must have previous experience in working on a Cruise Ship.
