Faststream Recruitment is recruiting an experienced Confectioner on behalf of a leading luxury ocean cruise operator.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced pastry professional to join a world-class culinary team, supporting the Executive Pastry Chef in delivering exceptional standards across all onboard pastry, confectionery, desserts and showpiece production.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Executive Pastry Chef with the day-to-day operation of the Pastry Department.
• Prepare and present high-quality desserts, pastries, confectionery, showpieces and decorations.
• Ensure consistently high standards of quality, presentation and food safety.
• Train, coach and support members of the Pastry team.
• Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, sanitation and safe food handling.
• Keep up to date with the latest international pastry and confectionery trends.

Requirements

• Culinary Institute Diploma or completed apprenticeship as a Pâtissier.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience within a luxury food operation as an Assistant Pastry Chef OR 3 years’ experience within pastry onboard a luxury cruise ship preferred.
• European-trained candidates are highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of pastry, confectionery, culinary arts and fine dining.
• Strong knowledge of international cuisine and cooking techniques.
• Very good spoken English with strong communication and organisational skills.
• Valid STCW certification and relevant seafarer documentation or willingness to obtain.
