Faststream is recruiting a Chef de Partie

Join an international cruise line as a Chef de Partie and develop your culinary career in a dynamic, high-volume galley environment at sea.

This opportunity would suit a motivated chef with a strong background in international cuisine, solid culinary skills and the ability to maintain high standards in a fast-paced kitchen. You will support the smooth running of the galley, helping deliver consistent food quality and an excellent dining experience for guests across multiple onboard venues.

Previous cruise ship experience is preferred but not essential. Candidates with a strong background in quality hotels, resorts or high-volume restaurants are also encouraged to apply.

What you'll be doing

• Assisting with the daily operation of the assigned kitchen section under the guidance of senior chefs.
• Preparing, cooking and presenting dishes in line with established recipes and presentation standards.
• Supporting efficient food production and maintaining consistency in food quality, taste and portion control.
• Following food safety, hygiene and sanitation procedures, including USPH requirements.
• Ensuring ingredients are stored correctly and helping minimise food waste.
• Working collaboratively with senior chefs and the wider galley team to ensure smooth service.
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment.

What you'll need
Essential

• Previous experience in a professional kitchen, ideally at Chef de Partie level.
• Good knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and international cuisine.
• Understanding of food safety, hygiene and sanitation standards.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a high-volume kitchen.
• Strong teamwork, communication and organisational skills.

Preferred

• Previous cruise ship or other shipboard experience.
• Experience in a high-volume hotel, resort or restaurant.
• Familiarity with USPH standards and large-scale food production.

Contract & package

• Salary: USD 1,400–1,500 per month
• Rotation: 8 months onboard followed by 2 months' leave
• Worldwide itineraries
