Safety Superintendent

The Safety Superintendent will have formal qualifications in a marine or related field and a minimum of 2 years experience in yacht management or maritime operations, including at least 1 year seagoing experience. They will have an understanding of maritime laws and regulations or be able to demonstrate the ability to research the required subject and will be expected to successfully complete a recognized Internal Auditor Course provided by an IACS member.

• Safety Superintendent maintains knowledge and awareness of all compliance matters for yachts under management including new regulations
• Implementation of Safety Management Systems (SMS) for all vessels
• Safety Superintendent will be a member of emergency response team for the company; the Safety Superintendent will also act as the Deputy Designated Person Ashore for the Company
• Evaluating training qualifications, safety equipment and services and advising in these regards for existing and new build yachts
• Analysis reports of reviews, audits, and non-conformities and agree corrective action with technical supervisor / Masters
• Safety Superintendent is responsible for the control of documentation of the SMS and quality system, including the issue of revisions, safety circulars, drafting and approval of new procedures
