Employed by Crew People International Ltd (CPIL) working on board Marella Cruises as the Hotel Manager onboard and part of the senior management team onboard you will put customers at the heart of our business and constantly ‘go the extra smile’ by creating unforgettable holiday experiences that make Thomson Cruises famous for service and create customers for life.

You will lead and coordinate seamless cooperation across several teams, helping to inspire a culture of respect for colleagues whilst sharing a great sense of fun. You will lead and oversee all aspects of the front and back of house operation to provide customers with the cruise they booked, in a safe and healthy environment, while offering the best possible guest services and maximising revenue.

What you will be doing

You are responsible for maintaining standards and services across food & beverage, entertainment, shore excursions, reception and other hotel depts. You will actively engage with key partners and senior management onboard to ensure a continued understanding of the  Marella Cruises product and subsequent delivery.

You will be accountable for the performance, identifying and remedying areas of underperformance along with the training, development and engagement of all teams onboard.

Working with Senior Personnel and other key partners on board you will agree all day to day operational decisions including timings, delays, itinerary changes, security and disciplinary issues affecting the operation, financial or local authority issues that may affect the operation and service. You will handle and resolve all escalated queries and complaints by communicating service issues and mutually agreeing compensation and subsequent recovery as required. Any final point of escalation will sit with you to remedy. You will also be accountable for ensuring that head office departments receive all necessary reports in a timely manner.

You will lead & drive the overall onboard revenue function and together with key partners you will be accountable for achieving and exceeding set revenue targets, implementing and adjusting strategies as required.

You will be accountable for managing overheads/cost controls onboard and controlling agreed budgets/forecasts.

  • An operational expert with the capability to lead a team and be involved in engaging communications across a multi-cultural organisation
  • A visionary who can cut through multi departmental/functional complexities whilst building relationships across different teams and structures
  • Proven experience of managing large teams in a hospitality/travel management background
  • Intuitive problem solving skills with the ability to think on feet and find creative and innovative solutions
  • Experience in identifying underperformance with a track record in team management, training, coaching & development
