JOB PURPOSE

In line with MSC Cruises policies and procedures and under the supervision of the Buffet Supervisor, the Buffet Steward provides an excellent, friendly and professional service to our guests.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Greets guests at their entrance to the buffet;
• Serves guests at the buffet and cleans the assigned area;
• Complies with all sanitation procedures;
• Supports and helps the Room Service team;
• Refills and cleans the water and the hot beverage stations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Fluent English, oral and written. Any additional European language is considered an advantage (Italian, Portuguese, German, Spanish and French);
• High School certificate is an advantage;
• Experience in a restaurant or cafeteria;
• Good communication skills and team player;
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment;
• Passion about hospitality and customer service driven;
• Cruise industry experience is an advantage;
• STCW certification is compulsory (basic fire fighting, personal survival techniques, elementary first aid, personal security and social responsibility);
• A recognised medical certification is required before starting to work on board. 

VISA REUIREMENTS (if any)

• Possess a valid passport and when possible a seaman book copy.
