JOB PURPOSE

The Assistant Chief Housekeeper assists the Housekeeper to provide proper services to guests.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Familiarises with the MSC Standard Procedures, MSC Housekeeping Manual and the MSC Sanitation
  Manual related to the position;
• Is directly responsible for cleanliness and disinfection of guest public areas, guest public bathrooms
  and toilets and guest, officer and staff cabins;
• Is able to deputize for the Housekeeper in times of need in every way;
• Checks all housekeeping employees on duty are wearing clean and correct uniforms, name badges,
  shoes and all male team members are well shaved and tidy;
• Attends the daily Housekeeping team meeting and follows up any action required;
• Checks all cabin pantries, ice rooms, etc. are clean and tidy;
• Assists the embarkation of new guests in all ports, ensuring the escort group is correctly presented;
• Is able to present, use and understand safe applications of all institutional cleaning chemicals provided
  by the Company in the Housekeeping department.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum of 5 years US-market experience at competition in the top/middle manager positions;
• Fluent English with a good knowledge of spoken German. Knowledge of any other major language is
  considered a major advantage;
• High School graduate;
• Ability to assist in the general supervision of the guest accommodation section of the ship;
• Above average skills in tactful, diplomatic crisis and problem handling;
• Ability to work in a harmonious productive team environment;
• Basic computer skills in Windows-based programs and any current ship management program in use
  on assigned ship;
• Physically able to participate in emergency life saving procedures and drills;
• Physically able to lift and/or move up to 25 kg;
• STCW ’95 Basic Safety Training Certificates (including swimming and rowing) are compulsory;
• Proficiency in security awareness training is required;
• A recognised “fit to work” medical certification is required before starting to work onboard.

VISA REQUIREMENTS (if any)

• VISA working permit, Entry and/or Transit VISAs may be required depending on ship itinerary
