American Queen Steamboat Company: Luxury River Cruise Company located on Mississippi River, Ohio River, Tennessee River, Columbia and Snake River. We are looking for a sevice minded, detail oriented , professional to join our company. The positon would be located at our Corporate headquarters in New Albany, IN.
Job Purpose
Identify adequate qualified sources of supply for all assigned commodities,spares,equipment,services and material pursuant to the operation of a premium/upper scale cruise operation.Research,analyze and recommend alternative products and service providers of equal or higher quality at more favorable costs,incollaboration with vessel stake holders and department heads. Produce cost savings through efficiency,contract negotiation and improved terms&conditions.Manage company warehouse functions and all delivery logistics to vessels
Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare and process bid proposals and request for quotations (RFQ) from qualified suppliers
- Prepare and analyze comparative bids for awarding contracts with favorable terms and conditions
- Produce contract recommendations for approval from management,there after producing vendor contracts,credit terms and vendor setup
- Produce and issue all approved Purchase Orders for Fleet supply chain
- Provide support to vessel controllers and provision masters to ensure orders are placed on time and within budget
- Manage schedule for vessel controllers and provision masters
- Implement and manage complete inventorycontrol on board vessels with a minimum of a quarterly inspection to ensure vessel adherence
- Make recommendations on modifications to vessel processes to provide more efficient controls toinventories
- Ensure compliance on board to all requisition processes, both internal and external
- Where necessary,setup and prepare ideation sampling for proposed new products, or modification to exiting products, where appropriate
- Administration of all bid schedules,contacts and supplier evaluation in close collaboration with vessel stake holders, controllers and senior management
- Ensure all contract are setup in shipboard PMS
- Manage and administer storing schedules,by vessel,along with department and vessel specific template creation and modification for shipboard management to order from
- Manage centralized warehouse functions and, where necessary,consolidator operations
- Manage all logistics associated with deliveries to vessels
- Resolve all price conflicts between agreed terms and invoiced totals
- Evaluate market conditions to ensure quality and consistent supply
- Onsite support for dry dock, wet dock and new build projects as required by supervisor
- Meet “standards forservice” behaviors
- Use recovery steps to respond to others who are dissatisfie
- Make hospitality standards an important part of day-to-day duties
- Be a STEAM System example for others
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
MinimumQualifications & Requirements
Education:
Bachelor degree, or equivalent of experience, in related field
Professional Certification(s)or License:
n/a
Skills & Abilities:
- Experience in MicrosoftOfficeand Excel, at expert level is required
- Experience with MXP(MarineExchange)PMS/Procurement preferred,however,experience with other shipboard inventory and purchasing systems (MMS, Oracle)is acceptable
- Ability to work with a sense of urgencyand efficiency
- Abilityto work in fast-paced, quickly-changing environment
- Must be detail-orientedandextremelyorganized
- Must be willing to accept changes of direction in work and priorities with a positive attitude
- Must be a proactive thinker and constantly think ahead to better serve our customers,both internal and external
Experience:
At least 2-4years ofexperience in similar role within the cruise industry
Other:
Must be at least 21years of age
Submit to and pass alcohol and drug tests including but not limited to pre-employment,random,reasonable suspicion andpost-accident/incident testing

Working Conditions:
Office environment; elevator and stairs available. Work is administrative innature.

- Ability to standand wal kfrequently
- Ability to bend, rotate and reach frequently
- Ability to carry, push/pull and/or lift materials weighing up to 35-40 lbs
- Ascending/descending stairs safely
- Ability to manipulate/handle/grip materials required to perform job

Work Experience Requirements
All applicants must have previous experience in working on a Cruise Ship and in a 4/5* Hotel or Upscale Restaurant.
Language Requirements
Good knowledge of the English language is required.
