Required:

• Electro Technical Rating

Desired:

• STCW ENEM Certification
• Experience of CISCO networking systems
• GMDSS Maintenance Certification

Responsibilities

The Assistant Computer Systems Officer is to assist the Computer Systems Officer in the completion of their day-to-day activities including but not limited to;

• Undertaking tasks utilising safe systems of work
• Assist in the safe and efficient repair, maintenance and testing of all electrical equipment and systems aboard the vessel
• To perform duty electrician call out duties during the silent hours as per the ships rotation plan ensuring prompt attention is given to passenger complaints and safety issues
• Designated as an Electrical Person (EP) as directed by ELVMS “Electrical Safety / EP”
• Navigation, electronics and automation systems
• Permitted to only operate and work on LV circuits and equipment (≤ 220V) unsupervised
• Only permitted to work on MV and HV systems under a PTWE and under the direct supervision of the Chief Electrician or Authorised Electrical Person (AEP)
• Other departmental and reasonable tasks as directed
• Participates in emergency response, safety drills, training & development as directed
