Sommelier - Celebrity Cruises

The Sommelier provides wine service in the restaurant, suggests wine pairing for the guests and maintains sales targets.

• Sommeliers are heavily involved in wine tastings, food pairings, private blending ( exclusive on Celebrity Cruises with Blendtique ), Riedel workshops, wine package sales .

Sommeliers help enhance our guests’ dining experience by recommending the right wines for every meal. You must also be skilled in up-selling techniques to promote and improve beverage sales. Your responsibilities will include restocking the wine cellar daily, as well as helping load wine to the ship once a week. If you have five years of experience in a similar role (or an equivalent combination of experience and education), exceptional wine and food-pairing knowledge, and service oriented personality, join us on board and we will propose a toast to your success!

Minimum requirements

Age : at least 21 years old
Three years previous experience on the land/ or cruise ship experience for simmilar position.
Previous experience in selling wine, knowledge of varieties and categories of wine, wine history.
Language skills: English – advance level – MANDATORY

Contract details

Contract: 6 months
Vacation: 2 months between contracts
Facilities on board : free of charge offered by the Company ( accommodation, meals, medical services )
Accommodation : shared cabin of two
Work schedule : 7 days / week , 8-10 hours /day ( shifts )
Job Cruise FEE : NO FEE for recruitment/ embarkation process
Embarkation costs : depending on ship/ itinerary ( medical files, required visas, flight ticket )
