- 1-year previous experience as Sailor AB and at least 2 years of sea service.
- Deck Watchkeeping Certificate (Certified with STCW II/5 - Able Seafarer Deck)
- Familiarity with bridge procedures, such as hand steering, lookout, acknowledging of fire alarms, and hand-held radio communication
- Maintain current STCW training
- Well-tempered and well mannered.
- Good command of written and spoken English
- Must be willing to work on board for 8 months
