The largest privately owned residential yacht on Earth is looking for a Maître D to join the team onboard.
The primary responsibility is the operation and supervision of an assigned Restaurant or In-Residence dining. This position prepares the team’s daily schedule, informs the team about daily F&B events, provides preferences updates and guides them through their day. Another essential aspect is maintaining accurate logs of daily inspections to ensure the F&B standards are consistent every day.
Responsibilities:
• Exceed Resident & Guest expectations by providing flawless, professional and personalized service at all times
• Supervise and ensure restaurant staff are functioning to their highest capacity and exceeding expectations during service
• Be available on the floor to assist with service and interact with Residents & Guests
• Responsible for team menu briefings and ensuring the restaurant staff have superior menu knowledge, provide ongoing culinary education
• Ensure that special requests, dietary requirements and Resident preferences are observed and followed through and communicated to the Chef
• Ensure that USPH cleaning schedules are in place and being followed
• Continuously reference the F&B event calendar and Tapestry and communicate all upcoming events to the restaurant staff
• Responsible to ensure the correct set up for any assigned special events
• Responsible for ensuring that the assigned restaurant operates within the established budgetary guidelines
• Ensure cost control procedures are in place and minimization of waste and breakage whenever possible
Hiring Requirements
• Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience on a luxury cruise ship, boutique hotel, ultra-luxury hotel or resort
• Degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred
• Certification in Sanitation and Public Health preferred
• Working knowledge of point of sales systems, inventory management systems, Fidelio and computerized reservation systems
• Experience working in a multi-cultural environment
• Ability to work well under stress and to multitask
• To speak, read and write English clearly and fluently
• Excellent computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
C1/D and Schengen Visas are required and you will preferably already have these.
