The Pastry Chef is responsible for the preparation and distribution of daily baked goods to the maximum satisfaction of the guests under the supervision of the Sous Chef and the Executive Chef. Besides, he/she is co-responsible for the hygiene and tidiness in the galley area.

Accountability

The Pastry Chef reports directly to the Executive Chef or Sous Chef

Flexibility

Flexible to assist and/or cover for the Chef de Partie, Demi Chef de Partie or Commis de Cuisine.The employee will have to be able to assist in areas outside the Galley for ship operation purposes such us loading of food and supplies

Tasks

Producing baked goodsDecorating and plating various pastries and desertsMaintaining the work area to a clean, hygienic and tidy state at all timesAssist in other areas of the kitchen when requiredOrdering supplies

Requirements

  • At least two years of hotel or prior ship experience in a comparable position
  • Good command of English and Germanlanguage
  • Diploma/Degree from a patisserie/culinary school or baker diploma
  • Ability to work long hours and under pressure
  • Attention to detail and patience
  • Artistic ability and creativity
  • Stress resistant
  • A flexible and motivated team player
