IT Systems Engineer (m/f/d) Virtualization & Storage

Your chartered goal

• Responsibility for the planning, operation and strategic development of the VMware virtualization platform including storage and HCI platform
• Introduction and management of additional components to increase security and the degree of automatization
• Administration and further development of the virtual desktop client environment (VMware Horizon) as well as collaboration in the further development of our Disaster Recovery environment
• Enforcement of security standards as well as planning and monitoring IT environments to ensure compliance with audit-compliant standards
• Collaboration on projects as part of the strategic expansion of our IT infrastructure as well as technical coordination and guidance of external service providers
• Deployment on the ships as part of shipyard times and ship newbuildings as well as participation in the standby duty

Your previous ports of call

• Degree in computer science, business informatics or a comparable qualification
• Professional experience in the field of IT infrastructure, ideally with the VMware virtualization platform
• Knowledge of network architecture and system administration as well as experience in project management
• Professional Proficiency in English and High Proficiency in German as well as confident handing of MS Office 365
• Economic thinking and acting, hands-on mentality, teamworking skills and strong communication skills
