AVO Dispatcher

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented AVO Dispatcher to join our Engine Department, reporting directly to the Hotel Engineer. The AVO Dispatcher is responsible for managing and coordinating all communication and dispatch activities related to the ship's operations, ensuring that all orders and instructions are documented and executed efficiently without relying on verbal communication.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and coordinate dispatch activities, ensuring all orders are documented and followed up in writing.
• Oversee the distribution and receipt of operational instructions and work orders.
• Maintain accurate logs and records of all dispatch activities.
• Collaborate with various departments to ensure clear and effective communication.
• Monitor the progress of tasks and report any delays or issues to the appropriate personnel.
• Ensure compliance with safety and operational protocols in all communications.

Qualifications:

• Prior experience in dispatch or communication roles
• Proficiency in MS Word/Excel and Outlook
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with maritime operations and safety protocols is a plus.

Certification:

• Basic Training (A-VI/1)
• Security Awareness (A-VI/6-1)
• Crowd Management Training
• Medical Certificate (valid and compliant with STCW and flag state standards)
• Seaman’s book
• Passport (min. validity 6 months)
• Visa (if required by embarkation port or vessel itinerary)
• Yellow fever vaccination (only in high-risk trade areas)
• Measles vaccination (only in high-risk trade areas)
• Covid vaccination (WHO approved fully vaccinated / booster recommended)
