V.Ships Leisure is looking for Hotel Director on behalf of Silversea Cruises. The Hotel Director is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the hospitality operations on board to ensure exceptional guest experiences and operational efficiency. You will lead a diverse team and collaborate closely with all departments to maintain the highest standards of service, guest satisfaction, and revenue generation. Reporting - Senior Director of Hotel Operations and onboard Captain. Subordinates – All Heads of Department within Hotel Operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides strategic direction and leadership to all hotel departments on board, including guest services, housekeeping, food and beverage, entertainment, shore excursions department, concessionaires and on-board activities.
- Takes responsibility for all aspects of hotel operations to ensure optimum guest satisfaction through the delivery of a welcoming and efficient guest service experience and foster crew friendliness.
- Ensures that the vessel adheres to a strict regimen of cleanliness and aesthetics in alignment with brand standards.
- Enforces adherence to company standards, policies, safety protocols and industry regulations.
- Provides a highly visible presence around the ship to verify the smooth running, acting on and following up on any issues within Senior Director Hotel Operations and shoreside management.
- Fosters a culture of Officer visibility and engagement with guests.
- Develops and maintains positive relationships with all colleagues, practicing good people management, and maintaining proper conduct with all departments around the ship.
- Takes ownership of voyage planning, fostering positive and effective collaboration between all stakeholders.
- Proactively interacts with guests to identify their expectations and needs, ensuring they are promptly fulfilled, always demonstrating the utmost sincerity, integrity, and hospitality.
- Is accountable for positively and promptly resolving guest complaints or concerns, before guests depart the vessel.
- Interacts regularly with guests and crew to gather feedback and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Creates and maintains a positive work environment, successfully leading subordinates into productive working methods by setting an example and utilizing all available tools.
- Actively participates in cross-functional shipboard meetings.
- Supports and actively promotes the Silversea Way culture training program and ensures that the Silversea Way culture is embodied in all operational activities, along with 10/10/10 & Silver Knight training initiatives.
- Is accountable for all inventories within hotel operations and stores management.
- Collaborates with Heads of departments to control and maintain operational budgets.
- Provides regular updates and reports to the Hotel operations team shoreside.
- Distributes the NPS Ratings, Hotel Director’s Voyage Report and Deep Dive Analysis, at the end of every voyage to designated stakeholders.
- Develops and implements strategies to maximize sales, profitability, and guest satisfaction.
- Ensures and enforces compliance with all USPH, Outbreak Prevention (OPRP), Public Health and Safety measures and regulations.
- Actively participates in weekly public health inspections and ensures corrective actions are completed.
- Ensure all outlets are thoroughly inspected including aesthetics, ambience, lighting and music.
- Empowers and motivates the Hotel department to deliver exceptional service, and to take accountability for their performance and adherence to company policies and standards.
- Mentors and supports Heads of departments, identifies training needs, and talent development.
- Attends meetings, training activities and related courses and all other work-related activities as required.
- Actively participates in cross-functional shipboard meetings / Executive Committee meetings / SIT calls.
- Implements and supports all Silversea initiatives and programs as requested by the corporate office.
- Participates in crew and passenger safety drills according to instructions.
- Always complies with the Company’s safety and pollution prevention regulations and operating procedures.
- Participates in all mandatory training.
- Leads by example by taking care of Health and Safety of self and others.
- Ensures that all work equipment, personal protective equipment, chemicals and safety devices are being used correctly. Delivering training, guidance and supervision on how to use and maintain them.
Education/Experience/Qualifications:
- Minimum of 6-8 years of professional experience in luxury hotel operations (multi-outlet) with at least 5 years at a management level.
- Hospitality management education or equivalent.
- Previous cruise line experience.
- Excellent fluent English (verbal and written). English is the working and safety language on board Silversea vessels. This also includes the ability to give and receive instructions in verbal and written forms and to effectively and efficiently engage with guests and crew members. Conversational skills in additional languages are considered an asset.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, Fidelio or similar hotel operating systems.
