Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines is a family run company, well known for our quality cruises and the ‘personal’ touch we offer our guests. We believe the journey is just as important as the destination.
We’re looking for a talented and passionate Chef de Partie 1 to take charge of a designated station in our shipboard galley. You’ll be responsible for preparing and producing high-quality dishes for our guests and crew across buffet and à la carte services. This is a hands-on role where excellence, safety, and creativity come together to deliver an exceptional culinary experience at sea.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead food preparation and cooking at your assigned station, ensuring quality, presentation, and consistency.
- Supervise and train Demi Chef de Partie and junior staff.
- Maintain food safety and hygiene standards in line with USPH and company policies.
- Monitor food costs and inventory using Fidelio systems.
- Participate in daily tastings, departmental meetings, and safety drills.
Specialist Stations May Include
- Breakfast Hot Galley - Oversee hot breakfast service and support lunch prep.
- Crew Chef - Prepare meals for crew, staff, and officers.
- Fish, Grill, Sauce, Soup, Salad, Vegetable Stations - Handle specific ingredient prep and service.
- Outlets - Poolside Grill, Garden Café, Palms Café, Colours & Taste, Vasco.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in a similar role within a high-volume kitchen.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
- Excellent knowledge of food preparation techniques and dietary requirements.
- Familiarity with Fidelio systems and food safety protocols.
- A proactive, organized, and team-oriented approach.

Work Experience Requirements
All applicants must have previous experience in working on a Cruise Ship, in a 4/5* Hotel or in an Upscale Restaurant.
Language Requirements
Good knowledge of the English language is required.
