Following French diver licenses are obligatory:

  • License - Obligatory
  • BEES 1er degre Plongee Subaq.
  • Permit Bateau Cotier
  • CPR Certification
  • DAN Oxygen Provider

Watersports Coordinator

Reporting to: Marina Supervisor

Required Licenses & Certificates

  1. BEES 1er degré - plongée subaquatique (Brevet d’État d’éducateur sportif)
  2. Boat Driver permit (Permit bateau cotier)
  3. Certified PADI Master SCUBA Diver Trainer or higher
  4. Certified PADI Emergency First Responder Instructor or higher
  5. Current CPR certification
  6. DAN Oxygen Provider Certification.

436.0.b Primary Objective of Position:
.1 Providing guests with prompt, friendly and personalized watersports services and watersports excursions
.2 Adhering to PADI codes of conduct, rules and regulations regarding dive excursions, divers, discovery and certification programs, and forms/reports.

436.0.c Major Areas of Responsibility

.1 Administration

  • Assisting with the completion of dive excursion accounts and forms.
  • Administering Fidelio in relation to guests billing of excursions.
  • Updating the PADI account online with relevant information regarding Paul Gauguin Cruises.
  • Ensuring PADI certifications and PADI programs completed by guests onboard are updated with PADI online.

.2 Guests

  • Providing personalized and professional service guaranteeing an impeccable experience before, during and after the activity booked through the Dive Desk.
  • Overseeing that guests special wishes and preferences are taken care of and communicated to other departments.
  • Resolving guest concerns immediately and/or refers to the respective department head.
  • Identifying guests’ preferences and expectations and assists them with the selection of watersports activities, dive excursions and private arrangements that best suit their needs.
  • Ensuring that guests with special needs are catered for at all times during the activity.

.3 Marina

  • Maintaining, cleaning and up keeping of the marina platform
  • Maintaining, cleaning, storing and up keeping of all watersports equipment
  • Maintaining maintenance logs for tanks and scheduling of required shore-maintenance of dive equipment.
  • Repairing or arranging repairs for watersports equipment
  • Refilling dive tanks
  • Preparing dive tanks, equipment and dive boat prior to each scheduled dive
  • Maintaining a par stock, preparing inventories and preparing purchase orders of water sports equipment and supplies.

.4 Dive Desk & Information

  • Providing efficient and courteous service to each guest while at the Desk and Marina.
  • Maintaining Dive Desk area to ensure that it is presentable, clean and orderly at all times.
  • Administering and following up on complaints and property damage related to watersports activities

.5 External Dive Tour Operators

  • Assisting with the debarkation for dive excursions and private arrangements, and the loading and dispatch of dive excursions.

.6 Embarkation/Debarkation Day

  • Assisting at embarkation/debarkation as required.
